Ryan Gerakopulos

Ryan Gerakopulos, M.A.Sc.
Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder

Ryan Gerakopulos is C.E.O. and heads NanoQuan’s business strategy. His teams have commercialized innovative nanofabrication and nanomaterials technologies. He developed advanced aircraft instrumentation systems with Bombardier Aerospace, and advanced nanomaterials processing technologies with GABAE Industries.

Dr. Chitral Angammana

Chitral Angammana, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer, Co-Founder

Dr. Chtral Angammana heads NanoQuan’s technology development. He is widely recognized in industry and academia for his innovations in nanomaterials and nanofabrication techniiques. He has received prestigious fellowships from MITACS™ and the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN). A two-time recipient of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE ™) James Melcher Prize Paper Award, he is a Committee Chair in the Kitchener-Waterloo section of IEEE.

Barry Bardo

Barry Bardo, M.A.
Vice President, Business Development

Barry Bardo is a leader in B2B sales and marketing for emerging nanomaterials. He has played key roles in business development, marketing and sales at successful startups, emerging-growth, and NYSE companies, including Millipore Corporation, Pall Corporation, Parker-Hannifin, Meissner Filtration, GABAE Industries and Nanostatics. Barry was founding VP of sales and marketing at KX Technologies, a global filtration company sold to Berkshire Hathaway. He holds an M.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Yale University.

Dr. Shesha Jayaram

Shesha Jayaram, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Professor, University Research Chair, University of Waterloo

Dr. Shesha Jayaram is a recognized researcher in high voltage engineering and Director of the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory (HVEL) at the University of Waterloo. She has published more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and holds four patents and patent applications.

Howie Honeyman

C. Howie Honeyman, Ph.D.

C.E.O., Forward Water Technologies

Dr. Howie Honeyman is a leader in developing and commercializing new technologies. As C.E.O. of Forward Water Technologies, Dr. Honeyman leads commercialization of green chemistry based water purification technologies. He is also a Director at Mirexus Biotechnologies, a nanotechnology company.

He was CTO at GreenCentre Canada and Senior Vice President at Natrix Separations. At E Ink Corporation, Dr. Honeyman led development of the first commercial ‘electronic ink’ now used in Amazon Kindle and other e-readers.

Dr. Honeyman led research and product development at Cabot Corporation and was a research scientist at the Xerox Research Center of Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and did postdoctoral research at Pennsylvania State University. He is co-author of 17 peer-reviewed publications and inventor of record on more than 30 U.S. patents and patent applications.

Larry Smith is a renowned professor of economics at the University of Waterloo specializing in forecasting and entrepreneurship. He has extensive experience in strategizing early-stage companies. He is best known for his formative role in the development of Research in Motion (RIM).
